Around the Horn
When I first started this blog - my blogfathers told me that to grow readership - I had to generate interesting, original content. We did that. We did it well. We topped out. The Missouri big-box blogs got jealous. But now it's time - it's really time - to do what we created this blog to do: Generate original content from YOU. We are here as a clean slate for you to post your thoughts, ideas, and opinions.
It's a lot of pressure to develope new content daily, or hourly like the professionals. But I think I am ready. I think I am back on the horse. I think I care again. I hope you do to - I don't want to be alone.
So I am going to throw one around the horn - I'm going to post links to and offer my comments on the top stories on some other blogs until I can get back fully on my feet. Not original content completely - but even in the 5th grade - the hardest part was deciding what to write your paper on. Let's start over at Jason Rosenbaums CDT Politics. Top Story at the moment: Contribution Limits
They (the Republican Leadership) are going to eliminate contribution limits. Their spin is so that the campaign committees, which 'hide' money will do so no more. They tell the public that you can openly see who is supporting which candidate iff you eliminate the limits. We've commented on this before. Eliminating contribution limits will turn political campaigns into NASCAR. I look forward to seeing the product placement in debates.
Here's the real story: The Republican Candidate for Governor is going to need to re-load after a bloody primary. Their Lt. Governor is well on his way to a pounding (and not the loving kind he's used to). Their Treasurer candidate has no significant fundraising base. And Herman Munster generates about as much excitement as a catipillar in a marathon.

Jason (who rumor has it now has contacts) says that the Speaker is looking for a 'clean' bill to send to the Governor. That's the same Speaker who I assume is now adding into his political contracts a percentage of the fundraising which is common among political consultants.
And Senator Sheilds...I look forward to see what kind of a handjob you have worked out should Hulsoff pull this thing off in November.
So yeah - by August 29th this is going to be the Wild West of political campaigns.
See you there.
